    The adventure begins

    ... the 25th year of the German reunification (1989). They were expecting thousands of people in Frankfurt and we actually ( on Saturday night) watched the major event on the TV. Dinner was at a very small local eatery where we had pork and potatoes ( of course) and wine. We sat at long wooden table with style. A neighborhood German place full of locals and fun to experience. We returned "home" and settled down for the night.

    Travel has ended BUT the memories last forever!

    ... and make them feel listened to) questions about their country, family etc. I had 4 such people cross my path in one way or another. The first was a fellow from Germany~ my same age, also walking without his spouse, but for him it was just a walk~ he didn't believe in a "God"~ lived paycheck to paycheck~ believed he earned it and would spend it all and didn't worry about a little nest for replacing a car or saving for retirement.     ... highlights of the day were socializing Jerry Wrinkle, son of my fourth grade teacher at Chilhowee Elementary School, who was serving as a tournament official, and Knox County Sheriff J.J. Jones, whose officers provided security for the event. Another interesting side story was talking to some attendees who had used Uber to taxi them there and ferry them home.
