Okay, some might say, "You see one cavern, you've seen them all." We've seen the Lost River Gorge and Boulder Caves in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, a mix of granite walls, waterfalls and caves that play hide and seek with the lost river. Very cool, but not really caverns. We also saw the Dixie Caverns in Roanoke County, Virginia. They were discovered when a ...

San Antonio part 2: Today I wandered off the key tourist spots, but still along San Antonio's Riverwalk.
On the way to a Mexican hot spot, I stopped at the Spanish Governor's Palace built in the Adobe style of architecture. Then, I found a charity second hand shop. basically means tacos or enchiladas, both always served with rice and black
beans. BBQ options are steak or ribs.

      And inbetween? ...

Sadly saying goodbye to The Texans we drove south towards Mexico aiming for Big Bend National Park. On the way we wanted to go via San Antonio to see both the Alamo and the river walk. The Alamo's legendary story is quite rightly a pretty emotional one. Even walking around hundreds of years later there were still people crying at the bravery the soldiers showed against the impossible odds that the Mexicans posed. The recovered letters from the generals of the Alamo were amazing ...

... the canals but once you pop down to escape all the noise above, it's like a little oasis down there. We ended up at San Antonio's oldest bar up on a fan cooled balcony overlooking the beautiful canal. We drank, ate and were merry, just brilliant. We left the bar and headed back to the hotel where we settled in, in anticipation of our big drive to Carlsbad, New Mexico the next day, a good 6-7 hours away. ...
