... and the temp was 58. This afternoon @ 3pm it is 85 outside, and the sun is bright. The two hour difference from home is still a bit unsettling. I look at my computer clock and it says 4:57, but my watch says 2:57. When we would normally be sound asleep at 10-11, the night is actually just getting started here. And, we have another hour difference to come as we travel further west. Then we lose the time as we make our journey back.'

I make an early start for Roswell because it's a 6-hour, 380-mile drive away and, frankly, I can't wait to get out of Wichita Falls.
It really is amazing how big and empty the state of Texas is. If I didn't know any better (or didn't have Google Maps to make sure), I could easily believe I am in Saudi Arabia. Not that I've ever been there, but it's what I imagine some of it to look like.
