Day 1 - Friday night, we drove from spartanburg to gatlinburg and arrived at the river terrace. It was lightly snowing on our ride up and was it was still snowing when we got to gatlinburg. ... Abbotsford and we've enjoyed every minute of this trip, but it's nearly over as we're scheduled to get on the plane on the 14th so only one more week and our trip into the south will be over. We don't know if we can wait the three weeks until the next holiday to Mexico, but we'll try. We left Bradyville on Saturday, January 04th and headed to Deborah's hometown of Oak Ridge/Knoxville. Deb's best friend in the world, Jean Norris was kind enough to drive the two hours to middle Tennessee to pick us up. ... The tower was our destination for the sunset. We reached the peak with little time to spare, or so I thought, so I rushed Kaitlyn up the trail to the tower. At the top of the tower the wind gusts were in the 30 mph range and it was freezing. It turns out that we had a bit more time than I had thought so we stood in the windy cold tower for about 30 min waiting for the sunset. It was well worth it. The sunset was incredible.
