      We had a very eventful first night on the road! Dad started the drive from Sunapee, Gloria co-piloting with her eyes closed and mouth slightly open. I recall turning onto Lane before getting on I-91 in Charlestown, and then being asked to get the map out as we missed a turn off to rt. 9. It was just as well, since with the camper, taking the highway was a better option. I fought with the Garmin GPS only to find out that I was misspelling Niagara Falls! ...

      ... Let me digress a minute to describe "Rest Areas". They are large paved areas for cars and trucks with a building that houses several greasy fast food joints, a convenience type store and a coffee shop, sometimes Starbucks, sometimes Gloria Jean or even sometimes a Tim Horton's. Picnic outdoor eating areas are usually adjacent to the building. The view is either the freeway or the parked trucks. There is sometimes a grassy area, for dogs to have a pee break. ...

      ... had chocolates in the room! It was the first time we'd felt real jet lag on our entire trip and there was only a 3 hour difference. I think the dark afternoons did not help.
