      Niagara Falls: Day 1

We caught the street car back to Union Station, and being a Monday morning at 7:30 am, the car was completely packed - you could not literally fit anyone else in. We were lucky we got on at one of the first stops, so we got a seat. We otherwise would not have even got our cases on - I can imagine the looks we would have got if we had tried. I'm not sure that it was the most popular method of getting to Union Station with suitcases for the other commuters, but we actually ...

His name was Josh, just turned 18, his girlfriend was 21 and gambling. So he couldn't go to the bar she was at. They've been dating for one week and love eachother. A guy in a bar in Toronto told us that he'd done it and wished he'd taken his swimming goggles so we persuaded Val to wear hers. The pictures say it ...

... Erie, PA, a place neither Lewis or I had been before. It was neat to see the old buildings filled with funky shops. It has that old village feel, minus the charm. Taking route 5 (an official Scenic Byway that follows the outline of Lake Erie) was really great, and kind of what this trip is all about. We got to see stunning views of the lake (did you know Lake Erie had cliffs?! I didn't), pretty little creeks meandering to the lake, and more vineyards than I have seen in a long time. ...

... to scan half the information, but I do appreciate these mini history “tid bits”.

It turned out to be a gorgeous morning! The sun was shining, the fine mist of the falls felt wonderful, the birds chattered and squirrels played along the paths. Whitney can attest that these are freaks of nature squirrels…they are huge and have no fear of us (no doubt resulting from tourists feeding them :/). Between the excitements of our ...
