Most of this trip so far has been a combination of work (3 days of the National Effective Teaching Institute in Austin and 2 days at LSU and Baton Rouge Community College) and seeing some of Rich's cousins in the Bluestein family (Robby, Jeannine, Nathan and David in Austin and Judy and Herschel in Houston). ... their soldiers. They also took his animals and food from the plantations so he was now basically broke. He got stressed out and ended up with pneumonia and died at 45. So his wife was left to raise their 8 children by herself so she moved into the basement and boarded up the 4 floors of rooms above them. She lived till she was in her 70's and her children all grew up and moved on. It sat with nothing else done to it till 1970.

Day 3 Headed out later after doing an hour of yoga and and hour of meditation.I made a goal of Baton Rouge for today and spent the day winding my way along the Mississippi River. I tried several times to actually see the river up close but there is a dyke all the way along it to keep the river in its place and so that the rich fertile lands of the floodplain could be used to grow cotton. I have absolutely NOTHING to say. Today was a boring day of driving. We decided to forgo Beale Street and Graceland as really bad weather was predicted for Memphis and after seeing news this evening it was a good choice. We are now south of Jackson MS other than that I have not a clue where we are. The computer filled in the location above. Working our way home. See you soon..........

We came, we saw, we were turned away because no loads were ready... so we drove a bit down the road, and sat on our butts waiting, but luckily we got a new load, and its waiting in Louisiana for us. We are gonna snag it tomorrow morning then head on up to Wisconsin. Lots of nasty weather out there, several deaths, one in company even, so I am hoping we don't have to encounter any more of it.
