Then spent a few days lazing under pines in the mountains. Now heading northwards towards Rocky Mountain NP. Spectacular scenery in this part of the country, but the mossies & flies are vicious... (you are so right Joyce!)

... no bike lane, so I was trying to stay as close to the guardrail as possible. My front pannier clipped the rail and threw me sideways. The bike fell on my left leg and the chainring cut my right leg. I have some bruises and cuts but I feel fine. I was a lot more careful after that. We spent the first half of today in Gunnison getting supplies, and Kirsty got a new back wheel. I finally got my forgotten items that I was too embarrassed to admit in the beginning- spare tubes. I feel a lot more confident now. I found a place that served a vegan breakfast burrito and got some much needed protein. So, the Rocky Mountains. Where can I start with trying to describe how utterly amazing this piece of preserved perfection is? As we neared, we knew instantly that what we were perceiving was the Rocky Mountains. There was huge expanses of greenery leading up to the mountains which were all full of green pine trees.
