    ... and Blue Mesa Summit, where there was also the Blue Mesa Reservoir. Monarch Pass was at 11, 312 feet and was also at the Continental Divide, so now we are officially in the east again. The last leg of our journey today took us to Salida, where we stopped for the night. It was late when we got in, so we made it a pizza night and I finally got some laundry done. What a day of spectacular scenery!

    ... the Rocky Mountains. You could see for miles, over the millions of trees that covered every part of the ground and the side of the mountains but, further up, you could see the tops of the mountains which were patchily iced with snow and underneath, the rock was made up of a mixture of grey and black tones.
