... the snow still falling and the ground now covered, we ducked inside and set in for the night, fancying ourselves as Scott or Shackleton as we slowly warmed and dried out. Nadine is on her cot reading as the wood burner crackles, and we're just about to transfer the photos onto the blog. It's been a perfect evening. So we finally found ourselves at the town's hostel which has to be the most expensive hostel in existence, but it was clean and ...

... as the trail was just so good and there was so much to look at. After a while, we had to hike through small patches of snow which, turned into even larger patches of snow. I was wearing £20 trainers from mountain warehouse and jenny was wearing her running trainers. Obviously, we were completely unprepared; feeing even more so as we passed avid hikers with all the gear (including snow shoes) but we soldiered on, trying to prove that we could walk over the snow (with ...

... who moved out to Salida for a more affordable and relaxed lifestyle. They have a very good eye and a friendly dog that trots around keeping an eye on things too. Definitely a treasure trove worth exploring and spending hours in. The clothes are stylish and good quality but the prices are really affordable. We stayed at a small B&B in Salida called 'The Thomas House B&B'. My review of this is as follows: Great location, beautiful historically styled ...
