... as well. This morning we went out to breakfast for some good food and more discussion. It was a very nice visit. Next time we are going to have to allocate some more time. Randy offered me a jeep ride in the mountains - that sounds exciting.

We left Buena Vista and followed Randy's recommendation to take Cottonwood Pass. It would cut some time off getting back to Gunnison and it would be a new experience; When we got outside of Buena Vista, we ran into a ...

After Silverton, we headed even higher, going through spectacular mountain passes - Red Mountain Pass and Box Canyon - on our way to Ouray. It's snowing quite heavily outside and we're listening to the wind blow through the trees and the snow patter on the roof of the hut. The wood burner is on, it's now toasty warm, we've just had dinner and a hot chocolate, and we have the place to ourselves. There are even wooden beds for us to sleep on. It's been ...

We got up and headed for CO as early as we could muster in the cold, and it was cold! Foggy, very heavy mist, which probably would've been freezing rain if were 4-5 deg. colder. Snow flurries were in the area and we found out later it was a severe cold snap that came through just as we did, setting record low temperatures for this time of year. We found a café to eat some breakfast and get hot coffee in ...

... Dream Lake. This was also very pretty but did not encompass as amazing views due to the fact that we did not climb as high. This was literally one of the best days I have ever had as we saw so much wildlife and the views were the best I had ever seen. We were especially entertained by the wild chipmunks; one we made friends with and called Alvin. He followed us for a while and we decided to put him in our video diary (yes we're making a video diary...!). In the evening, we made ...
