Then spent a few days lazing under pines in the mountains. Now heading northwards towards Rocky Mountain NP. Spectacular scenery in this part of the country, but the mossies & flies are vicious... (you are so right Joyce!)

... did my best. After my muscles warmed up, I was surprised by how efficiently and pain-free it was riding. This was the first day that my legs didn't burn while climbing hills. I also felt decently acclimated. My body really came together at the perfect time. I didn't even need to walk my bike up any of the mountain. ... 15 minutes of trying to hold out with him, we obeyed and retreated. He served us tortillas and a plate of veggies under our rainfly. It was so delicious! What a treat! So, the Rocky Mountains. Where can I start with trying to describe how utterly amazing this piece of preserved perfection is? As we neared, we knew instantly that what we were perceiving was the Rocky Mountains. There was huge expanses of greenery leading up to the mountains which were all full of green pine trees.
