... took one of the walking trails around the point. It was stunning with wildflowers and blue ocean as far as you could see, we even saw a few whales splashing in the distance. Then it was time for a coffee so we headed to the café at Bunker Beach - yet another stunning spot. This area is blessed with some wonderful pristine beaches.

In the afternoon we relaxed at the campsite, went for a stroll along the beachfront and then spent our evening fishing from the ...

... a plunge pool, so kids could play in the pool while we chatted! Bronwyn and Mark had some fabulous recommendations for lunch: wineries and breweries with great kids playgrounds and menus. Once The Roses left we stayed on for another 2 nights. We had to get the air compressor checked, and it was pointless to stay somewhere else, right? Another fun observation is that fruitcake seems to be a common desert in Australia. I have had fruitcake with custard twice now, which is two times more than I had in America. Busselton bustles around its Pier and the community over the years have put a lot of money into maintaining this long walk into the sea. Ships used to unload here at the end of the pier and horses were used until 1911 until rail was introduced. The Pier is 144 years old give or take a few cyclones that blew bits out and 6 or so fires that destroyed pieces over the years. It was a bleak and blustery day but we managed to rock into a very nice ...

... we visited the Busselton Jetty and waterfront, the Busselton beach and did a day trip to Donnybrook where they have one of the best playgrounds I have ever seen. All the kids had a great time here. Ian took Craig and the girls out fishing twice. They caught a Dhufish, calamari and Sarah caught her very first edible fish, a Skippy. We all enjoyed them that evening.
There were tears when we left all around.
