      Vandaag stond in het teken van Melbourne Cup....de bekenste paarden race van Australie. Gisteren waren we in het wedkantoor ons favoriete paard gaan uitkiezen. Helaas hebben we niks gewonnen. We gingen eerst nog wat boodschappen doen voor de race begon. Rond 11 uur keken we naar de "build up" voor de race. Helaas was na de race het trieste nieuws dat een van de favouritwe paarden ingestort ...

      ... the gathering thunderclouds to the south. The weather reports had predicted scattered showers for the day, but we hadn't had any issues with weather this whole trip and counted on our luck continuing. No dice tho, I felt little drops of rain hitting me as we were suiting up to leave.

      ... 8230;. Play a game of tennis, a quick swim in the mini splash pool (Brr!) and a hike to the Children's forest. All lovely things to enjoy. Decision = come back tomorrow!

      ... the evening as he was away. A quick sleep and a 4 o'clock start made for a long day. Air Asia departed right on time at 6.50 which was just as well as we had been advised by our airport authority that the main runway was closing for maintenance at 8 am! Our flight to KL was pleasant enough for economy and we were left to wonder how it must be to fly in business class.
