Chattanooga - what a great name for a place. The sole purpose of visiting this city was to have a look at the train that featured as the Chattanooga Choo Choo? Now for those who don't know, the song was made famous by one of the great bands of all time, the Glen Miller orchestra. The song was also sung by the Andrews sisters. The train is now based permanently at the Chattanoogan, a hotel that has turned the terminal into a hotel and has used carriages ...

        September 1st – day 120

Super hot night with high humidity and
no air conditioning meant little sleep. While it; fine to “camp”
for free at Walmart, having your generator on all night is not. So
everyone was a little grumpy to start the day.

However we had a trip to Rock City
Chattanooga planned. This was opened in 1932 and uses natural rock

Church. Good service, Australian preacher so it was our kind of
        humour.

Then after a shared lunch of leftovers
we went to catch up with Bjorn and Tara. Bjorn was the guitarist in
the band when they moved here and we had never met ...

... decided to find dinner instead. Not the best time to drive down off the mountain on the winding roads in hindsight because the rain soon became torrential. But the worst was down in town where there was flash flooding on the roads, at one stage a car passed us through deep water and threw up enough water to make us appear momentarily underwater! However, the curry we had for dinner was one of the best we've ever ...
