After driving up from Lake City, we spent a great weekend with Jamie and Kristen. They made a turkey dinner for us with all the trimmings and we relaxed at their house on Saturday. On Sunday we drove out to the Chickamauga Battlefield National Park, watched a video and toured the park. ... was about 100 yards below the trail I should have been on. I did some rock scrambling, some climbing on hands and knees, and scaled a vertical wall using just some holes in the rocks to climb up. Luckily, I found the old trail and followed it back to the campsite. That was some serious off-trail hiking!
That night, I started a nice fire, drank some beers and listened to Thursday Night football on the radio. What an amazing day of hiking and first night in the woods!!!
