The motel lies directly at the main street. Quiet, clean, no smoking rooms. Nice, helpful manager. In 3 min. can you reach a dollar market. No freezer or microwave inside.

The Smokie Mountains were nothing short of amazing. I couldn't have asked for better weather. After me and Stealth (Will) took a zero day at Fontana Dam we hit our stride. My knees are finally started feeling better so we were able to pick up our mileage and usually hiked between 15-20 miles a day. I can say with certainty that I gave ...
Well, this was day 7 on our Great Adventure and I will say that I have been bitten by the BUG!! The "mountain" bug! I have always wanted to live in the mountains, at least part time, and experiencing it for a solid week just solidifies that. As we are heading home, back to our FL lives, I will keep the dream of living in the mountains alive.

Why the Vanderbuilts of course....Next stop----Clio, ...
After not seeing each other for 3 months, we decided it would be a good idea for our first activity to be a 2.5 hour road trip (each way) up to Asheville, NC. Two people. One Acura (Japanese Princess). No air conditioning. Roll out.
We tried to go to the Biltmore Estate, but it was CRAZY expensive, so we just went to the city and wandered around in the awful ...
I passed my thesis defense (woohoo!!) so I will officially graduate from WCU on Friday, May 10, with my MA. It's a bittersweet feeling – I don't necessarily feel like I'm a "master" at anything, and I'm reluctant to leave my cohort and students behind. But I know that it's time to start the job hunt and try to find full-time employment at a college or university (so, hey, if your department is looking to hire a Rhet/Comp Instructor, I'm your girl!).
