We left for Milford Sound at 8:00 am. It was pretty clear in Te Anau but cloudy ahead. We stopped at the Eglington Valley Viewpoint at 8:45 and fog was settled at the base of the mountains in the distance. Our next stop was at Mirror Lake just a few minutes later. ... then went kayaking on the sound . It's a special place as it's cliffs go directly into the sea and in some places they rise up ..? High into the sky.. I believe they are the highest cliffs to go directly into the sea anywhere in the world.. Although I may have dreamt that..not completely certain. Anyway in the morning we saw the obligatory seals in and out of the water with 2 hunting fish right in front of our kayak which was ...
