So out of The Big Smoke and off to beautiful Armidale. It's up in the hills so it's quite a bit cooler and greener than you'd expect. We took "Thunderbolts Way" which goes through some quite hilly and picturesque country. Very popular with the motorbicyclist folk. Shame the surface is so bad in many areas. We stayed on an unpowered site at a very nice caravan park (to save money and make use of the solar panels) which turned out to be a great move as we had a huge area of perfectly flat grassy landscaped parkland to ourselves, while everyone else was crammed on to the powered sites.
