Today we went to a Swap Meet (LA equivalent of a car boot sale) which luckily also had a VW exhibit on so Dan was happy! We wondered round for a while, grabbing a beer half way round and Dan bought some shorts. Dan's cousin then drove us to Laguna Beach (via Newport Beach of The OC fame), where we walked on the beach and explored some rock pools. I paddled in the Pacific (and have photos to prove it).
