... few mountains away but they were causing huge smoke clouds that were drifting for miles!! The rest of the drive to San Bernardino was less dramatic and we found our little Super 8 motel, which just so happens to be right next door to IHOP so we all know where we're heading for breakfast ...

... cities that have been built where shooting takes place (Back to the Future, Wisteria Lane Desperate Housewives), you get to experience things as they happen in the movies, eg Jaws, Psycho, War of the Worlds, a flash flood, a 4D King Kong and dinosaur attack and I can go on and on. I took loads of photos, just too many to upload. Incidentally, in War of the Worlds, they used an actual aircraft which is scattered and still smoking in a make shift ...

... enjoyed the boat show but also the Christmas lights on local residences and businesses. It was a great way to get into the Christmas spirit.

We will be spending Christmas with our good friends Jim and Della from Gibbons. They bought a beautiful winter home in Palm Springs and invited us to join them for the holiday as they won't have any family for Christmas either. We will come back to Hemet for the New Year's celebration and head for Arizona ...

... I am not sure what you the correct term is for loads and loads of windmills. The traffic starts to get heavier as we get closer to the coast. And then we see huge mountain ranges, and turns out we are staying pretty much at the foot of them, in San Bernardino.

Thanks to a fab leaving present from Joycee’s 1-2-3-4-5 we are staying in a wigwam tonight. It is part of a well known Route 66 chain of wigwam hotels. They began in 1949. ...
