... a pet-friendly accommodation in a (probably) overflowing Las Vegas. It wasn't raining any more and the freeway itself was clear sailing but I could see down the offramps many of them blocked off by police cars, presumably from flooding in the low-lying areas.

We pushed on, again stopping at the state line for our normal routine of dog-walk & gassing up the car and then it was 3 more hours back home, all uneventful and dry..... but by the ...

Soon enough Blythe came but we really didn’t feel like stopping here and so continued our drive. As we were heading west the sun was making its way to the horizon and it was the signal for us to stop. San Bernardino was our stop for the night. Nearly 9 hours of driving took a toll on our bodies. Lucky for us, there was ...

... time to catch the hottest part of the day. And folks, it is very hot.

So we stick to the main road in Joshua Tree National Park and turn off at the first spot which catches our fancy. Well, it was amazing. It is easily the most beautiful place I have ever been to. It is beautiful and quiet and prehistoric. The rocks are amazing, they are massive and smoothe, and see to nestle together in a way which makes the landscape even more ...
