... wood. The third ship was the oldest and the most recently found of the 3. It was actually found by our tour operators by accident. After bringing in an expert it was determined to be a Scow Schooner....an old cheaply made merchant ship from the mid-1600's to the early 1700's. There are no identifying marks and to date no records of one going missing in the area so it's origin is still a mystery.

We officially made it through our first night of the trip! After our late start yesterday we drove 9 hours up to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.
