The main thing on the agenda for today was getting haircuts for all the boys. Denzel went first and wasn't very impressed and screamed most of the time while I got covered in his hair while I tried to hold him still. It's amazing what a haircut can do for someone. Then went and fed the ducks and went to the park (standard neccesity when we visit Northam). Good just being able to hang out with family and relax. <br>

Woke this morning to find out mum had caught our gastro bug - or something similar. Sorry mum - hope you're feeling better soon. Had a good run to Northam and the boys commented on how quick we got here. I guess 170km compared to the last few days of 500km plus would ...

... would of lost the tyre soon. Because of all this we had to put the bikes inside the van and then set off again for ma and pa's house. Got in about 3pm and then the kids had fun exploring the house and toys again. Was nice at night to share a meal with the Bocks (friends from Perth days) who were passing through town. The boys all had fun playing together and making a big mess! (What else do boys do?)<br>

We were going to drive back to Perth, but we had to make one stop on a detour in order to see if the rumour of a Giant Ram was true... and it is! Seriously, this town was so wierd- its out in the middle of nowhere, yet (for some unknown reason!) they've decided to attract tourists there by building a giant fibreglass ram, which stands 6 metres high and 9 metres long ...

After heading off, we headed back up the Albany Highway back towards Perth. A drive of 440km seemed a bit excessive in one afternoon, so by the time it started to get dark, we'd chosen Narrogin, on the Great Southern Highway, as the next overnight stop. No evidence of a backpackers hostel led us to a local B&B called the Hubbles Guesthouse, where we were offered the rate of $40 per nite - and the room had a TV (ok, I'd missed it a little bit!) Hmm... Ja, da der Bus nach Kalbarri nicht so gefahren ist wie ich wollte, hatte ich dann noch 2 Tage in Perth zu verbringen. Um mir die Zeit totzuschlagen hab ich dann ne Tagestour zum Waverock nach Hyden gemacht. Woke up this morning to find it had finally stopped raining! The skies were pretty grey, but at least it was dry. We decided to give Stirling Range a go. It was about 28 km along a sealed road, 27 unsealed and then another 6-7 sealed to get to the Bluft knoll parking lot. It was not a very nice day, and I wasn't expecting anyone else to be there.
