... parking lot, we continued our journey. The next stop was Multnomah Falls. This should have been a really quick stop, as the falls are right off the road. But our first problem was the insane parking. Followed by the MASSES of people on the bridge. By now we were all fairly famished, so we stopped at the Multnomah Lodge for a late lunch (2:30). We didn’t order anything tricky, but our food took an exceptionally long time to come ...

... but definitely aware that they were competing. Two of the kids were really aggressive and focused strictly on eating the watermelon while the others chewed quickly, but seemed preoccupied with their surroundings more than their watermelons. We came home, and just hung around until we went to McGraff's for supper. After coming home, we again just hung around and eventually went to ...

... all, is sometimes the best place to start. Descending into Portland was a surreal experience. The ever-present blanket of cumuli shrouded the city, but slowly dissipated to reveal Oregon's signature color: beautiful, lush, rich green. The verdant Willamette Valley and the mighty Columbia and Willamette Rivers with the majestic Cascade Mountain Range as backdrop took my breath away as if I was seeing it through new eyes. I ...

... 1 year old this weekend! Jenni was home and I really enjoyed visiting with her and Kyle. He is just barely walking and he is adorable! I wanted to take him home with me. After leaving there I drove into Stayton, bought some groceries and headed out to Don and Anita’s. They are in Christmas Valley for a few more days so let myself in and finally relaxed. The van did better than I expected- got 21.81 MPG. I think that is the best ever for it! Leaving the three ...
