... got to the final downfallen tree, where we had earlier noticed caused folks to sit and ponder “what's next” or start shedding layers. Apparently here there was a crossing of CHEST high water(up to my armpits) . The DEEP part of the water lasted only about 10 feet, but have I mentioned yet how cold the water was in this Gorge? I nearly called in reinforcements; someone to come peel my off the sidewalk and drive me home - but, I told myself, there would be no reinforcements in Scotland and I would have to make it on my own. So, I did. I got a little turned around trying to find an alternate ...

... bags and get down to a different terminal with less than 2 hours before our next flight to Portland. It was a rush, but we all made it and were thankful to be on the last leg of the flight. We had all forgotten that this was a long flight of 5 hours. We arrived at the PDX airport at 7 pm, got our bags said goodbye to our fellow traveling companions, retrieved our car and headed for home. Got home safe and sound and very tired at about 9 pm. Thankful to be home without incident.
