Kauri Coast
... The Greenhouse hostel, som ar en omgjord gammal skola. Jag och Paul sov i ett litet litet bungalow rum ute i tradgarden. Vi fick aven nagra kumaras av agaren som vi lagade till under kvallen. Mosad kumara, lova mig att ni testar det nagon gang om ni far chansen! Optippat gott! Det var bara vi och kille till som sov dar, da hostelet precis oppnat igen for sasongen. Inte for att Dargaville har manga turister, inte annu i alla fall.

... the amazing view of Ninety Mile Beach outside the front door of the hostel. We took a couple of sledges to try and locate some sandunes that you could drive to without the need of a 4X4, but didn't have much luck, so we decided to continue back down South, via the west coast this time. All things new in New Zealand
... of items come as a shock. €1 for a tomato! I also spot people walking around barefoot a lot. What weird country have I arrived to I wonder?
I manage to meet some great locals (old friends, friends from SA) and doing a spot of couchsurfing which really made my time in this city. We go through the map of the NZ and plan out my next two and a half months here...

North, north island
So we are comming to the end of our trip. Sold our van and therefore rented a car to take us up to see the last bit of NZ.
Started off with Goat Island, a marine reserve known for its great under-water scenery. Continued up to Bay of Islands and over to Tane Mahuta, the Maori tree of Gods. Great, pretty and a good way to round up the 9months spent in NZ.
Tomorrow we end it with going to Piha, the surf town with black sand beaches.
