... with our Camp8 book telling us river side camps are on both sides of the river. The first camp we looked at, on the west side of the river was high above the river and not that scenic. As we had crossed the river I had seen what looked like a true river side camp so we turned around, back over the river and proceeded down this 4WD drive track, van on the back. As we got to broken track with large boulders common sense said lets go back, but that was a reverse up the steep hill ...

This was expedient as we felt we could achieve more in the Park and allow a vehicle other than ours to take the wear and tear on a largely corrugated rough road. Excellent choice! The tour enabled us to do 5 walks and explore each end of the Bungle Bungles. The Cathedral and Echidna Chasm ...

The jungle (poem)

A travel blog entry by marie.channer on Sep 02, 2015

... At night the jungle comes alive,A flurry of wildlife aroundThe possums down from the treesTrying not to make a sound.
The fires in the pit,People sitting on the couchesBats flying over our headsNo wallabies with babies in their pouches.
After 2 months enjoying the chilled lifestyle,It's now time to explore,I'll never forget the new friends we've made,But I'll see them again I'm sure!
