... die pflanzen hier erreichen.....farne mit 3-4 metern höhe und mehr.....unglaublich.....
tja und wieder die frage, wie jeden abend, wo parken und schlafen......
wir sind dann einfach der küste entlang und haben in miramar einen schönen platz, direkt am strand, mit allen sanitären einrichtungen, die man so braucht, gefunden..
ein wunderschöner ort, mit tollen häusern und dem verrücktesten weihnachtsbaum ...

... middle of nowhere next to the Rangitikei River and in the shadow of an enormous cliff. The drive to the lodge was absolutely breathtaking. The rolling green hills seemed to go on forever and were covered by the hundreds of thousands of sheep who occupy much of the land.

The Lodge was a great place to relax; the girls enjoyed some time in the Sauna while the boys grabbed a fwe beers and played nine holes of golf (so stereotypical, we know). Most of the hostel ...

... really happy that we are so close to that. One of these days we are going to rent rollerblades and show off our skating skills because apparently rollerblading along the boardwalk is the thing to do around here.

Today, for the rest of the day we are going to look at apartments that we've requested to see and continue looking for jobs. Tomorrow is Sunday, our day of rest, so hopefully we can make things happen today so we can have a nice relaxing day tomorrow.

... They where called Tu Pappa and The Museum of Wellington. I learned a lot about the city of Wellington that including a lot about there shipping industries. The next day we went on lovely four people bikes and biked around the coastline that was all we did on Saturday. Sunday we then went to the markets and had some wonderful fruits. It was time to catch our plane so we left to go back to Aukland! So that concludes my Wellington leg of the trip!

Day 54 Friday 28th August Wellington

EARTHQUAKE Wow what a rude awakening about 2:00am we were woken by bthe rumble then the shake of a Richter 5.2 Earthquake based about 20 km away in Cook Strait. Fortunately it was 32 km deep so the effects were minimal. Much less concerning for us than brother Peter's 7.0 experience in Jakarta last week.

Arrived in Auckland after an 11 hour flight. There was also an incident at the back of the plane……cops had to arrest some guy which was comical. Got the shuttle bus to the city centre and was staying at Base backpacker hostel. Plan was to sleep for a few hours and wake up for some lunch and then explore……instead I could only check in after 1pm so had to kill like 4 hours…..not happy and was tired. Anyway ...

... to know a little bit. The two youngest are huge New Zealand golfers, Peter and Thomas Spearman-Burns. If you're a golfer, you may have heard about them. They have won countless awards and tournaments. It was fun staying with them and they made us delicious food!!! We had some terrific dinners with them and Brian and I got to see a lot more of the Wellington area ...

Met up with the other stragglers from the bus....looked like they had been on it for days! Thank god we flew - executive way to travel!! OH MY GOD we are SICK of snoring travellers - they should be banned from stopping in hostels! We had another few in the room so had to escape - at 2am we had to wake up, shine torches, screaming and shouting for them to pipe down but nothing was noticed! ... they should keep her on the domestic check-in desk...although she might not know where Invercargill is. hopefully my bag makes it to jakarta and not frankfurt! on the plane i was in the window seat next to the one baby on the plane. cute bub, but definitely didn't help the few extra hours of sleep i was trying to get. at least i have 7 hours in the sydney airport to catch up with a nap...
