    Unlucky choice in Gunnison, Co

Gunnison CO is in the heart of the Colorado Rockies and the drive there was mostly uphill but our trusty RV managed just fine. We only had two nights and one day in Gunnison and we had to make a choice. Should we go to the Black Canyon National Park which would have been a 60 mile round trip drive to park entrance, or should we spend the day hiking nearer ...

Night 28: Deep Colorado From Mesa Verde NP to Gunnison, CO Today we made 260 miles in a generally L shaped route, as the mountains dictated. Weather was good. Mostly sunny with one tiny little sprinkle for a few seconds. Temps varied slightly along the route but never passed the low 80's. Today we explored the beautiful southwest corner of Colorado in no hurry. We began our day in Mesa Verde NP having been left unmolested by the cinnamon colored bear. (See yesterday's post.) ...

I feel a lot more confident now. I found a place that served a vegan breakfast burrito and got some much needed protein. Today was an easy day of riding and we got to the camp before sunset despite our late departure in Gunnison. We had pooled ...

First day riding with my new cycling buddies. Kirsty is actually a lot faster than she let on. She's been on her trip for about 6 weeks already. Chris carries almost all of her gear and all of her water, so her bike is super light compared to ours. She had never biked before this trip, so she's getting strong as she goes- like me! We had to wait 30 minutes at a road construction stop. They wanted us to ride in front of ...
