... NH and the next day took a drive to Franconia Notch State Park. AMAZING! We saw the Old Man in the Mountain, rode the tram to the top of hill for a foliage extravaganza, hiked the Notch Flume, and got our butts kicked on the biking trail! We loved our time in New Hampshire. We were amazed at the beauty! We took a train ride on the Conway Scenic Railway.

So off to Vermont where we imagined even more ...

We spent Saturday morning reading and generally getting ourselves organised. The afternoon was low key - shopping for food and taking a drive around town.

... at a lake's edge. Not close enough to get a picture but it was interesting to see it in a natural environment.

We have also learned much about Vermont - 20% of people carry guns in public, has one of the lowest rates of gun crime in the USA and is mandated to have a balanced budget. The population is about 800,000 people - one of the least populated states. Burlington is only 90 minutes away from Montreal so Canadian TV is a pleasant change ...

... even searched for appropriate buildings to house the collections and had them dismantled and moved to the location.

The first building had a furniture collection and the next contained American art. Dave commented, "I feel like we are at the Antiques Road Show without the lines of people."

The caravan was great and we loved it from the minute we walked in. It had all the mod-cons such as fully kitted kitchen, TV, comfy double bed, toilet and a cosy shower with hot water!
