Today was much, much better. It was already warm by 8 in the morning, and sunny as anything. We started the day with a little walk on the beach and then breakfast and on the road. We'd decided that we'd make another short day and finally get to Franz Josef with enough time to walk up to the glacier.

... in full swing and just warming up with a DJ when us oldies left! The village is quite small, but modern and has many accommodation places. Didn't know what to expect but it will be good to have a vege out day tomorrow. Mel says the weather is expected to be poo which may result in the track to the glacier being closed. ... 38 and 40 were fantastically relaxing, with limited but nice views of mountains hidden behind the nearby buildings. Fairly sure the private pools offered panoramic mountain views but the budget option still worked out well. Having indulged to our money's worth, we headed back to the hostel to cook tea.
