I cannot adequately describe the scenary we saw today. It was like driving through an ever changing picture postcard.
We said good bye to Franz Josef Glacier. The sat nav told us to stay on the same road for 274km! We headed for Fox Glacier. We didn't see the glacier but the village looked charming. ... Thunder Creek Falls and the second from there to Franz Josef, and we got commentary almost all the way. There were also several stops along the way for toilet or meal breaks and a lot of the toilet breaks were in scenic spots with enough time to take photos. ... We decide to be positive, came back to the chalet for sausage butties and pack the back pack with enough warm clothing to explore Antarctica . Walked determinedly back over the rickety bridge and into the heli office being greeted with no bags on helicopter and just a fleece would suffice for clothing up top.
