      On my flight to LA so I thought I would start my Spartan Malibu blog. I'll arrive in LA at noon then it's an hour car ride to Malibu.       ... some great buys from a shop that had a 'buy 1 get 2' items free. Crazy! Bizarrely I was over it before Fray so we headed for the car about 4.15pm! Nearly 6 hours of shopping! Fray! Got out of the car park ok. Got on the thruway ok. Then had to go through the toll booths & because of the rain & the number of cars & we were trying to be really careful, we took a wrong turn & ended up heading south towards NY instead of north.       ... crazy good. It was called a tuna salad toasted flatbread with potato chips not pasta salad. What it was; pizza dough with cheese kneaded into it then cooked. Cover it in iceberg lettuce, tomato, onion & tuna salad, fold it in half & toast it briefly. Potato crisps on the side. Oh my god. $9. We ate & then power walked (like last night) back to the car, asked Google maps to take us to the hotel & checked in. Asked the kid at reception about where we'd been. He thought ...

      ... times. And, the dimness also helped keep the furnishings from deteriorating. I guess much of the furniture was donated along with the house and the library. I am a bit hazy on this now. I did notice how rather modest the upstairs furnishings were. Some of the furniture was substantial and probably expensive but there were a lot of twin beds in rooms that were not huge by today's standards....and no king size beds either.
