... very limited knowledge of Eastern psychology and Confucianism. That said if you know me well you can bet I’m having a blast in over here! I’ve found that having Chinese friends close to my own age helps tremendously in understanding the fundamentals of the Chinese mentality - the important stuff. Like my dad always tells me, you just have to take all the negative with a grain of salt and keep an open mind.

... market close to the train station. The market was quite nice with a lot of goods I couldn't find in parts of Tianjin, however the prices were high and none of the 'western' things were really Western at all. Regardless I bought some gifts and some leather mittens. Afterward we had jiaozi at a nearby chain restaurant, and a little skiff with the waitress when she brought and charged us for a dish we didn't order.
After, we took a ...
... between the last and current posts I have had plenty of travels within the city and taken many pictures, I'll add only a few here of the area of the city close to the river.
With the passing of time, the gilding wears off and the truth of things come forth, but, as I've said before, I feel this city is close to me and I am connected to it - at least as much as ...
... see. I know Nanjing, nothing new to see. I don't know anything North. A river... is that the river? Many neighborhoods, mostly like mine, occasionally nicer occasionally not so. Twist and turn, North, East, North... wha? Lost again. Well das goog suggested it's be 7 clicks, assuming a bus can do at least 14/hr I won't panic for half an hour. No I'm looking for ZhongShanMen or Anr (thingy that looks like a pagoda... are you ...
Tianjin, Tianjin, China beastly... location, them with 'meter is broken, 25rmb?'. Of course, it only costs 10rmb to get back to her apartment from the bus station, but why should they assume we know that. Very annoying of course, we ended up taking one of the nu-rickshaws, with the motorcycle front.
That night we spent in the town center, searching for sushi - which we eventually found and was both delicious and too ...
October 1 I had the day off for the Celebration of Chinese National Day. It was the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Peoples Republic of China. I used this time to explore more of Tianjin. I did a lot of walking and sweating but it was worth it. Enjoy the Photos.

... time off so it's not really that much time off, but great for a trip.
For this trip I traveled to Chengde county to stay with my gal's parents and see the mountain's of China.
Wednesday night after work I took the bus out to Tianjin city and we went out to dinner and packed for the trip.
... these 2 guys came to our table and spun the noodles in the air to stretch the dough and then they put them in your pot. It was pretty cool. The pics from dinner only include about half the group cause some ditched out because of the rain and they had to ride their bicycles home.
And yes we had a private room at no extra cost for dinner.

I went to dinner at a pretty nice seafood restaurant. I picked the food from aquariums on the main floor of the place and they cook it and bring it to your table which is upstairs. I went with a JV (joint venture) Team member and the Mexican team.
We had Chicken, Pork, Green beans, 2 kinds of shrimp, fish, and a crab. It only came to about 10 US dollars per person.
Enjoy thee Pics,

... every morning...this might be why. We are going to try to find a health club to shower in. That way we wont feel like such wasteful Americans in the presence of our Chinese host. (by the way I still have no idea what his name is.) Speaks very little English but says ok when he doesn't understand. Its been nice having a guide though. Showing us where the market is and making sure we give them the right amount of ...
