... people over here. It was pretty hot so we headed to a shopping mall for lunch (believe it or not we found a Pret a Manger!) and then in time honoured tradition, went up the tallest building in the city (which was very nicely air conditioned). Had a good old look around there, some fantastic views that give a really good feel for the size and geography of Hong Kong. We then took the underground via ...

... Lots of people doing Thai Chi in the play areas.
People sword fighting! Really random thing to see a husband and wife doing.

Walked off in search of the SHOPS! Found Ikea and HMV on the way which made me chuckle.
Got to the big department store called SoGo, went around all 7 floors and found NOTHING to buy. I desperately tried in Titty & Co but not even a t shirt.
So thought I'd just walk back the way I came and hop back on the bus..... NOPE, ...

... I was just curious to see what was available and at what price. We're having dinner in the hotel tonight and have decided to go to Stanley tomorrow. First we'll have to get the Star ferry to Hong Kong Island and then a number 6 bus to Stanley. We expect to get a laugh! Stanley was a fishing village before the Brit occupation of HK - nowadays it's a thriving beach resort which hosts a massive market on a Sunday. All the guide books suggest avoiding a Sunday unless one likes ...

... on the roof tops of some buildings/ part of a hill. The park was lovely. Beautiful lush gardens, waterways and small waterfalls, hundreds of turtles and some very large Koy (fish). There was also a bird aviary and a large flock of flamingos, even some ducks!! so I was glad we made the effort to go, although it was even more steamy & humid in there than anywhere else we had been. We had also commented previously wandering around HK that it was ...

    ... close by.

For lunch I went to Maxim's Palace at City Hall for dim sum - thanks for the recommendation Jay. Dim sum is lots of small dishes which come in bamboo baskets you're supposed to share. Oh well I had a few to myself. They come round with trollies and you simply grab whichever ones take your fancy. I had some pork shrimp rolls, BBQ pork balls and duck. At least I thought it was duck. Turns out it was duck's feet! Oh well was pretty tasty although ...
