On the morning of Friday 7th Sep, I took the 9hour train from Lijiang to Kunming, arrived in Kunming 5pm... At 7pm took the overnight 10 hour train to Guiyang.. Arrived in Guiyang 6am on Saturday 8th Sep. Stayed in Guiyang for one night to visit some friends at the Guiyang ...

My last day in Guiyang so needed to make sure I saw the river and People's Square lit up at night. Was really lucky as the weather as by this evening the skies had cleared. Probably the best evening of my two weeks here to decide to wander around the city.

Saw John and Kathy (Buckley) and the children to say my goodbyes and wish them all the very best. Their eldest daughter, Edie was just back from a trip to Chengdu ...

Spent the morning at the garage - more drama. They were supposed to be getting a new front tyre for me but turns out they can't get a suitable tyre so said they would put the spare wheel on and use the one they had taken off as the spare. Except when they had taken the wheel off, decided that it had a large hole in it and was unsuitable to be mended. This is the same hole that had had a patch put on it when we were in the monastery town weeks and weeks ago and has ...

... lunch time-ish. Andy then needs to assist Ivan with extending his visa as he will be staying on in Kunming, assist Eion getting how cv joint checked out etc and then on Thursday evening fly down to Guiyang and meet up with me on Friday morning, to escort me (I have to have a guide in order to be able to drive), and then we will drive as quickly as possible to Kunming, then continue on the tour with Eion and Liza.

Well that is the plan at the moment anyway .........
