... settling in to sleep since we took the night flight to Melbourne and Marlin looks out and sees the most amazing moon. Our pictures do not do it justice! We laid back in our lounges and tucked in for a 4.5 hr snooze that was really a toss and turn a session full of numb arms, seat belt wrestling and the 2 guys snoring in tandem next to me. Marlin? We saw lots and lots of westerners - blondies, round eyes, people who were NOT Chinese - everywhere. Our tour ...

... smile and waving us towards the correct boat. The taxi driver happily started unloading our bags! We dropped off our suitcases, and then had several hours to explore the city before we departed in the evening. We wandered around, shopped a little, had an early dinner, and gradually made our way back to the boat. Our 650 km journey began as we departed in the dark with the sparkling city lights to see us off. The next day after breakfast we enjoyed the scenery on the deck of ...

... was a large, lit up place called "Lisa's Hotel". How many Lisa's could there be in this place? Not many--turns out it was her place, after all. She has apparently turned into an unknown worker to a highly successful entrepreneur who owns multiple hotels in multiple locations. Unfortunately, she wasn't there, but it was cool enough to see the evolution of China throughout 26 years. Those villages are gradually being turned into tourist areas, with the history and ...
