... Ferries complex, but today this was out of bounds. There was to be tonight the world premier of the latest Transformers movie, including the actors, and the preparations (& queues of fans) were well underway... We didn't hang around to rub shoulders with Mark Wahlburg, I didn't think he would miss us too much... We then wandered into the nearby shopping mall, well this was an experience and ...

... Stanley at the south of Hong Kong Island and Lamma island where we finally did a spot of hiking! However, with a huge power station taking up most of the view it wasn't quite the scenic walk we imagined. A real highlight of our week was race night at Happy Valley Racecourse, what's not to love when entrance is 80p! A low point was being presented with an unwanted starter of a chicken foot floating in broth...

... it still is but I do not remember it being backdropped by lantern after lantern. It was really quite stunning and magical. Here we got around during the days by bicycle and this was a nice way of exploring the city. We made a visit to the beach which was gorgeous, Liz got pretty burnt and I am currently peeling from our one day visit. We spent one day visiting a lot of the museums and sights and also cycled through a nice local riverside village where we found children riding buffalos. ...

... except that it was getting a little too close to my limit on spicy foods. I think I must have drunk most of the pot of tea to stop the burn in my mouth. I think my favorite was this beef jerky tossed with veggies. Salty, spicy and sooo yummy. Adam also ordered a shrimp dish, LOL it was tiny dehydrated shrimp on crunchy veggies. The shrimp were like crunchy bit size snacks. Pretty good as long as I ignored the head and black eyes attached to it.
