After a wild and eventful adventure across the Indian Ocean Basin too breathtaking to capture fully in words, it's difficult to believe that this expedition has come to a complete halt. If only summer lasted forever so that I could continue to expand upon my knowledge of the region back then! The year 1392 seems so much more fascinating than 3619, even without the modern technology we have in this day and ...

I still cannot believe how quickly time has flown by, especially with each day being packed with new things to explore and discover, but I am now in Canton, the last stop in our journey through the past. Because Nathan had gone off in the dhow, we did not travel together this time, but we had scheduled a meeting place and time in Canton prior to his wild run to the boats. This might sound a strange thing to say but in China, bakery items often look a familiar shape but never taste as you expect them.

I bought a bus ticket and was soon travelling on a very smart people carrier to the border. There were about ...

... it has been pretty easy to find stuff to do outside of work.

After a few hours we left the lounge and went to a club called SOHO in the downtown area. It was a lot of fun and not too expensive. We had a few beers here and made friends with some locals, who were happy to keep pouring us shots. They were also really good dancers so they showed us a thing or two. I think we both had a blast and are really thankful we didn't have to work in the morning.
