We went to the Chen Clan Academy this mornng, stunning architecture. This was a temple built by the Chen family members where their youngsters could come and study for their examinations. A fabulous building going 3 courtyards back. There was a lovely museum with a reconstruction of a Guangzhou house and artworks.

After we disembarked from the night train we checked into the Westin and then made our way to Yuexiu Hill to visit Sun Yat Sen Monument and the Ming Dynasty Zhenhai Tower (Guangzhou Museum).

... I went back to see Dr. Hugo this Monday. On Thursday I had a CT scan at one of the local hospitals – now that is service! An English speaking nurse and a driver from the clinic took me to the hospital and looked after everything – painless and stress-free for me. The semester is at least at a close and work for us foreign teachers has come to a halt. All of our classes have been called off and it was up to us to keep ourselves busy.
