          ... landed a job as the manager for a bank in Dunedin. He thrived and took advantage of business opportunities heavily funded by his bank and diversified into numerous ventures. Evidently he was a quite personable and respected man and was elected to parliament. He ended up marrying three times and eventually his son had an affair with his third and much younger wife.           ... which ducks and dives up and down and around the gorge edge, gorgeous autumn colours and very few people. The track ends abruptly at Shingle Creek, so we had to take a boat to where it restarts at Doctors Point. Our boat driver, Laurence, made the transfer interesting by visiting some of the old gold mining huts en route, highlighting the history of the area and throwing in the occasional hand-brake turn!           ... Aramoana; playing king of the hill on the sand dunes and creating the flip flop championships! We were determined to see the Yellow-Eyed Penguins so we headed out a little earlier and found a different location where we spotted 5!
