Our family took us to the Sherman Museum. The place told us a lot about the history of Sherman and the Red River Area. Formerly known as the Red River Historical Museum, it had many cultural, historical, and educational exhibits to view.
Totals: Day 12
Museum fee: $5 (2 tickets)= $10
Lunch Sandra Dee's: $23
It's about 2 p.m. right now and we have arrived at my Aunt Sharon's house. It's a beautiful home that she has opened to us for 10 days. She also said that she will let me work for her for the entire week I'm here so I can have more cash for our trip! She is a Kindergarten teacher and she said I can be a teacher's assistant ...
... the rain got heavier. This town is on the bucket list for next time.
Rained all day and we mostly stayed on back roads instead of the interstate for the first half. Once we realized that the rain was not going to let up we hopped on the interstate and headed south towards Dallas.
Finally in 2013 a statue of Dixon Durant is placed I in the historic downtown of Durant ! Met some great people in town. After Durant we went to the Choctaw council house in Tuskahoma...more interesting people! Then drove to Poteau..funny ...
... I owned and shoved them inside the blinds as best as i could. It was a sloppy pain in the ass, but it worked enough to get me to sleep...for about 3 hours until I was woken by police sirens outside my window. Apparently some underage drunk kid plowed a car into another car at the stoplight. We were unable to leave the parking lot for over an hour. Ive never been so happy to leave a state line as I was then....
Next time, ill take my chances and sleep at the nearest truck ...
