    Monday 16/3 - After fueling up we headed off to Tampa or more specifically Tarpon Springs which is a small Greek fishing village about 20 miles north of Tampa. It was recommended to us by some people we met on the cruise. Our GPS said it would be a 1 hr 45 min drive but it ended up taking us 2 1/2 hours due to traffic leaving Orlando and then around Tampa. The amount of traffic congestion is just amazing considering the roads are 3 and 4 lanes wide in one direction ...

    ... little shade.  The height of mosquito season is June to the end of October so we were just on the downside.  As soon as the sun goes down they come out to feed – big time.  So air conditioning was a must.  Our campground had 65 sites but only about 8 were taken.  We set up camp and drove the short distance to the Visitor Center.
