        Ugh. Boring! David left very early and flew to Orlando for a conference. The kids and I packed up and set off across Kansas.         ... in McPherson, KS. And we took pictures of their amazing pies, rather than having a slice. I have a new understanding of "amber waves of grain" as all we have seen for miles and miles are wheat fields! And did I mention Kansas is flat! We arrived safely at the RV park around 6:30.         ... Dorothy may have been right, there is no place like home. Fresh, tranquil, restful, relaxing and serene can all describe Kansas. On a historical note, I spent some time in the town of Oakley ( not named for Annie) where an alleged competition took place between " Buffalo Bill " Cody and William Comstock for the right to the nickname.
