... a high mountain pass in the Rocky Mountains of central Colorado. It is at an elevation 12,095 ft (3,687 m) on the Continental Divide. State Highway 82 traverses it, in the process reaching the highest elevation of a paved Colorado state highway on a through road. It is also the highest paved crossing of the Continental Divide in the U.S. Because of the heavy snowfall at its elevation, it is closed in wintertime. A beautiful ride........

... in El Paso, which was the last roadside hotel we stayed in; what a bargain.

Tomorrow we're off to Mt. Rushmore where we will actually be meeting Mary's cousin Nancy, daughter of her Godmother Agnes, who we saw earlier in the journey. Believe it or not Nancy is on a 3 month journey with her husband Steve and we are 100% coincidentally going to be at Mt. Rushmore at the same time they are. Wow!

That's it fore now. Stay tuned;

540 miles today. Left Nevada traveled thru Arizona, Utah & finally Colorado. We are now in Glenwood Springs. Funny thing we have been out west in '05, '10 & now '14. Every time I plan a trip the mileage just seems to bring us to this town. Every time we also eat at a local Mexican place (MaryAnn....Ola!!!!!). Nice little town about mid state. So it was another hot one, with a very scary storm that we skirted around in Utah. We got to a ...

... and walk now after setting off. Our guide, Jeremy, was very nice and we had a blast. By the end we all wished we could have done the rapids (class IV) all over again.

Zip line was fun too. They had a little ropes course that you walked over too. I went with Mr. Aguglia and he bounced a bit, sending me spinning and getting dizzy nearly unable to stand up straight and get across. I put on a great show!
