... seafood is the speciality in Qingdao (and beer, Tsingtao!- but thats another story!). I tried oysters, muscles, clams, cockles, sea snails, octopus, and loved all of them, who knew i wasn't that fussy after all! Managed to spend couple days sight seeing before starting work, Qingdao is very pleasant, it is the home of Tsingtao beer, and it is sold everywhere. There is a street called Beer street, where you can buy a BAG of beer for 30Yuan, ...

... give it some thought. Thanks for asking.

On Oct 9th Flo asked if we had visited Nagasaki ground zero. Sorry Flo but there just wasn’t time. I regret not being able to now though.

The city is sometimes referred to as the Switzerland of the east because it is surrounded by water on three sides and beautiful green hills on the other. It has a population of over 8 million and is a popular tourist attraction for the Chinese and Korean's due to its beaches and mild climate.

    In 1846, when only a small ...

The new city is clean and shiny since it was built for the sailing events of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing and it has many new skyscrapers. This is also an important Chinese Navy port - five submarines and various other ships were in port with us.

This area also has an ...

Today we start with our usual scheme: 7-8-9 meaning rolling at 9 am. We are taking a bus to see the old city around the pier. The houses look similar to Europe. This town including the beer factory is built by Germans. After visiting the pier we go for lunch in the heritage restaurant in Jiang Ming Fan Zhaang where we enjoy the traditional music played alive in the place. During the lunch they are selling paintings ...
