... them, great to look back on all the places we've been. The next day we went birding at the local wetlands and went to the Brunch Box food-van for lunch, awesome burgers! Wish we could've stayed longer but a lot if California to see before we have to be in Nevada, definitely catch up with these guys ...

We spent our last couple of evenings visiting friends and family. Our friends Eve and Patrick invited us over for dinner, and Iris was excited to get to play with their daughter's dress-up clothes! He keeps on about wanting to see snow – and we have been patiently explaining to him that what we can see on the mountain is probably as close as we are going to get! The fisherman overhears, and says ...

... rain. We wanted to head over to the International Rose Test Garden and waited for the bus. After it didn’t come for a while, I checked the sign and apparently it doesn’t run on weekdays after Labor Day. So we made the mile or so hike through Washington Park to the garden. What a beautiful garden! With literally thousands of rose bushes in nearly every color of the rainbow, it was truly spectacular. Even in the light drizzle, we spent a while walking ...
