Most of the workers were from Cornwell England and this mine had a reputation for safety even though the workers put in close to 12-14 hours (depending where they worked).  They only got paid once they actually started working which was about 10 hours since for those deep in the tunnels it took time to get there.         Saturday was Ariane's last day working as a waitress in a downtown Paris restaurant. We met Guillaume's brother (Nicolas) and girlfriend (Cyrielle) there for dinner.
