These retired personnel include pilots, deck crew, gunners, etc, etc. plus they give talks on how to launch from a carrier, how to land on a carrier, and how the ship was run. Basically, the plane takes off, stays at some sort of altitude for about 5 minutes and then starts coming down to earth. Next time I'll drive as I suspect door to door it's about the same but a lot prettier at ground level.

... reasonable meal in several days, we all left with full bellies. We were pretty stoked to find a mini mart right next door so we could buy a few essentials. Something I would say about the American people I have met to date , they have all been so helpful, cheerful & well mannered. I had heard so many negative comments before coming here but in my short experience, they are completely unfounded. Now for bed & freshening up for Day ...
