Sunday morning, we had breakfast at the hotel with Chris, Mel, Heather, and Danny and then checked out. There was a plan to go to Cascades Falls on Sunday, but Casey and LeAnna were busy with family stuff, so Sandy and I headed there by ourselves. We headed west on US-460 to Pembroke and turned on Route 623 into Cascades Day Use Area. After paying the day-use fee, we began our hike. Normally, I would hike the lower trail to the falls and the upper ...

... br> We then headed back through Brevard and headed further North to start our return to New York. It is a little sad now that we are at the begining of the end of our holiday. We drove about 4 hours up the road before finding a hotel for the night. For dinner we headed to "Shoney's" which is much like Sizzler only not as classy! Kentucky Trip - October 20 - Day Eleven

We got up a little after 7:00 despite our intentions to get on the road early. It was COLD! 36 degrees. I had put two blankets on the bed last night so we slept warm and toasty though. Got up, had my spark and gratefully had my cup of hot coffee! We had the fireplace on and the little heater. Lesson learned - bring both heaters when traveling this time of year. I was not excited ...

We rolled out early this morning to go to Burning Rock ATV park for the ATV training and tour which was the centerpiece of the anniversary trip, only to find, after we filled out reams of paperwork asserting that we wouldn't sue the place if we died and that we would pay for the ATV if we crashed it, that we had to reschedule. They probably would have let us go if we had insisted, but the two girls behind the counter were definitely pushing for a later date. ...
