I love to Travel............. :)
I also love to take pictures. I really think it is neat how a picture freezes a moment in time with a simple push of a button. I am fascinated that such a simple little object can capture so much with so little effort. I love taking pictures and then looking at them again and again - not only looking at the main subject but seeing the other things that were captured in the background. I enjoy taking pictures of people, nature and buildings - and anything that captures my imagination at that moment. I like zooming in for my shots or turning my camera different ways to capture images on a new perspective. To sum it all up, Photography is Awesome!
Outdoor Adventure is also another passion of mine. From zip lining - superman style - to kayaking down a narrow lake/river to hiking in a beautiful rainforest - I love trying new adventures. Not only do I like to try new things though, but I also seek to improve my skills in the activities that I have already done.
Back to travel though..... :) So far, my travel has mainly consisted of Canada (have visited every province in Canada - now need to see the three Territories), parts of the USA, Europe and the Caribbean.
Besides traveling abroad, I also enjoy exploring my own country - Canada. Two of my favorite road trips within this great country of ours is the Cabot Trail in Nova Scotia and The Icefields Parkway in Alberta. I would highly recommend both of these trips for anyone visiting Canada. They are both breath taking!!! Each province has its own beauty within it and has its own unique qualities. Prince Edward Island is another province that I greatly enjoy with its red dirt/sand. I also had the chance to visit Newfoundland when I was in grade 8 (Lyn Public School) as an exchange program with another school. This was my first big trip away from home and it really started my love of traveling from there on. After staying in Buchans, Newfoundland - I just wanted to travel - it was and still is in my blood.
There are many more things I would like to explore in Canada. I hope to visit Newfoundland some more - esp. see Gros Morne National Park. British Columbia would be another province that I would like to explore again (more to the North). I haven't really seen much of Manitoba and Saskatchewan - so that would be on my list of travels. Of course, since I haven't been to the three territories (Nunavut, Yukon and Northwest Territories), I would also like to find out what they have to offer. I've seen pictures of the Territories and they look amazing - esp. in the warmer weather... :) Oh Canada! - How I look forward to exploring you MORE!!!!
To be honest, I just love to travel and that does not necessary mean I have to go far to do just that. Travel in my own neck of the woods can also be quite rewarding. I enjoy trips in my very own province of Ontario. One of my favorite things to do is head to Kingston to take the ferry from the city to Wolfe Island - which has many wind turbines. Picton is also another beautiful area that provides wonderful adventures. Renting cottages on various lakes within the province is quite fun as well. Ontario is a very beautiful province with many things to explore in its own right - hence its slogan "Yours to Discover". Camping is another activity that I have recently discovered the joys of taking part in. Staying in a tent often allows a person to find places that are more remote in area and peaceful in thought.
Overall, I love being in the outdoors, near a body of water and seeing new things. Photography, Outdoor Adventure, and Traveling are in my blood and I want to experience many more things before I die.
Two songs that seem to express my love of travel are: 1) "Maybe Tomorrow" (The Littlest Hobo Theme Song) by Terry Bush AND 2) "Born to be Wild" by Steppenwolf. Both songs sing about the need/want to travel and all the excitement that it entails. I also enjoy listening to these songs: "Wake Me Up" by Avicii, "In the Arms of the Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, "All Souls Night" by Loreena McKennitt, "Viva La Vida" by Coldplay and "Only Time" by Enya. On the whole though, I take interest in many types of music - from folk and classical to country, pop and rock - and even a few rap songs in between.
