We had a scheduled one-hour fuel stop in Anchorage which ended up being about 2 hours due to a techical problem. Unfortunately, it was 5 a.m. - so not much action at that airport. Surprisingly, it was only 0 degrees there!

The Jet I was on that was to fly me to my first assignment in Japan had some major engine problems that landed in a hotel in Alaska for three days. I'm just glad they managed to land us the normal way rather than the destructive (i.e. crash) way.
