... mini bus arrived before we were ready. It was all a kerfuffle! Dressed in our finest wine buff (or buffoon!) clothing, me in my salmon pink shorts and Jackie in her bright pink trousers, we boarded the mini bus looking like Harold and Hilda. Together with a German couple we were taken to Simonrig wine farm to await the rest of the tour heading up from Cape Town. ... up in some perfectly placed cottages perched on wooden stilts with breathtaking sea views. Savannas were cracked, the braai (BBQ) was cranked and we settled in to enjoy 4 incredible days in a paradise of our own. We made a few trips into Ponta d' Ouro - where all the clubs and barracks (shebeen type bars) are and a couple of times got a lift from our saviour - the Unimog - a 4x4 truck type thing with open back and sides and seats along each side of the truck. That thing ...
