Vi kom til Lamu efter en mindre spaendende bustur med 4 timer paa grusvej i elendig stand. Derefter er det en kort faergetur fra fastlandet til oeen. Faerge er maaske meget sagt, det er mere en stor traebaad med en gammel motor, som er placeret midt mellem alle passagerer som ogsaa inkluderer en god bunke kyllinger.
