The nice thing about the rain on Wednesday was that it turned into 5-10 cms of fresh snow overnight! In Japan there is a type of rail ticket called the Japan Rail Pass. This has the potential to save a lot of money over the course of your journey. However it can only be bought if you are out of the country. I had left it too late and so struggled to get mine, leaving my plans all up in the air.
