... 12:30 and found it to be jolly nice. PublicbBus to Monteverde (1.4$ approx) left at 13:30 so we had time to get our bearings in the small town and have a quick lunch at the bakery (we really like the bakeries in Costa Rica and I am enjoying sampling the massive bread pudding slices at about 60p a piece).
Massive yellow bus left on time and took us to reserve entrance (final stop) in about 20 minutes. Staff at ticket office were very helpful and told us exactly what route ...
... the walking stick bug that can grow to 9 inches. We also see the Emerald Toucanet sleeping in a tree with his head buried under his wing to preserve body heat....looks like a green ball. We also get to see a really small version of the stick insect that is an orchid eater and so rare that collectors would pay 5K or more for a perfect specimen....we left it eating orchids! Then John got a picture of his favorite...a pigmy frog about the size of the tip of my little finger.
... horsewoman in her little saddle. Then they took off the saddle and the father trainer had the horse perform the classic moves which brought tears to my eyes as I thought of how Mom loved these horses.
Then we proceeded on drive to Monteverde and had some challenges with roads closed ....not to mention the rough condition of the roads. Bless our driver Juan Carlos who is a real champ. We did stop at a coffee producer off the road....the guide felt ...
... back to the hotel, had dinner in town and then went to the salsa bar for a couple of drinks (turned out to be 3 rum and cokes lol). Lol tapped the shoulder of the tour leader of G Adventures, thought I should really say hi and met 2 other girls who are staying on the tour (both seemed really nice so looking forward to it!).
Looked a bit too ridiculous in my shorts, trainers and backpack so I left around midnight and packed AGAIN!

Swing, Ziplining or Superman to see them, you may have to push play a few times - there are also a number of pics attached below - seemed like there was too many good ones not to share some of them). The nice thing about the canopy zipline is you really got a sense of the vastness of this place. On one of the ziplines, hawks were soaring nearby and you felt like one of them with the bird's eye view before you.
