    ... totally bizarre. We had a slight diversion to the Outlet Mall in Barstow for a little light shopping and then continued on to Victorville.

    There is an interesting Route 66 museum we are hoping to visit tomorrow before we leave and wind our way westwards for the final time through the Los Angeles suburbs, Hollywood and Beverley Hills towards the End of the Trail at Santa Monica pier. See you there ...

    ... on where to eat in San Francisco and everything was 'awesome!' We set off again, glad that we had filled the fuel tank up at Needles. Our next stop was Ludlow where we did enjoy a great meal in an old fashioned cafe. After another fifty miles of increasingly rough road where we could only manage 15 miles an hour, we reverted to the interstate for a short stretch before resuming 66 into Barstow.     Dome Rock Mountains, the Colorado River, we’re in California now, green fields and orchards for a while; then sand again. Desert Center is our turning place, we leave the freeway, head north around the Park; Joshua Tree National. I stop for bent and twisted palms, now dead; reminds me of tornadoed places in the south.

    ... I turn around and see both Ate Rot and Jane on the ground, trying hard to get up and move out of the way - good girls :)

    We shimmied over to the Sunny run, as we strapped our boots in, I heard Ate Rot curse as she realized one of her bindings was missing a clip! She was then forced to take the lift back down to have it replaced. We told her to just meet us here are we will simply be coming up and down this exact same run.
