Drove 184 miles in 3 hours.

Was a low key day. Had a quick lunch in Greektown Detroit before hitting the road. My gyros was a huge disappointment and Karen's octopus salad was basically inedible. Terrible way to end the visit.

The drive was uneventful and we arrived mid- afternoon which ...

After a shock wake up by my alarm clock at 6 am, we found ourselves waking up to a cold and blearily morning was just like waking up in England blurghhhh :s Shower ,breakfast and van loaded it was time to hit the freeway and head 290 miles to the birthplace of rock and roll, Cleveland. ... could I pass on that. I was lucky enough to spend the day in good company and attended the birthday party of a rock star. (In pure Irish fashion, it was held at a local Irish pub.) It was not like I was just there as a person in the crowd, I was an invited guest and it felt like family. What an absolutely amazing group of people.

I can only hope to remain friends with them and go out again in the future.

... the way into Eastern Ohio! I sat baking on the highway somewhere in NY for about an hour. I think the folks around me were a bit surprised when I started stripping clothes off!

Got home at 1649 hours, that's 4:49 pm to you non-military folks. LONG day in the saddle, but I put the pedal to the metal and seriously exceeding the speed limit most of the way!
