... best. We are kinda known for running in, helping build something, then leaving it for them to run. I can understand the frustration this lady had. I want my impact to be positive on India. I want it to be for the long run and life changing. I need to keep that on my radar after we leave so I can continue to help HOPE long after I'm gone.

... to let others know how much they mean to me? Hardly ever and when I do, it's usually with a group of people so others can see. If it was just between me and someone; chances are I would not make much effort. I think I need to change what I value in life before it's too late. I know I need to and cannot do this on my own. Trust me, I will have more to write about this ...
Tharangambadi, Tamil Nadu, India jdcasazza... through some local communities who were very curious about us!
Little did we know, but we had a special guest with us who was going to the HOPE School as well. Her name was Padma Venkataraman. she was the daughter of the former President of India. She had breakfast with us at the restaurant. She is very involved with many projects like this one to help bridge the gap ...
... one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."
Why can't I get this? I need this! I pray that God helps me to understand my heart more and to change to value the right things that God wants me to value. I pray that when I return to the US, I can have a different perspective on the many ...

Trankebar, Tamil Nadu, India nanagnana... a huge bug and that all she heard were crunching sounds. At first I was like, eww lizards but we see them everywhere. I go in to assess the situation and at first I didn't see it and was thinking, "Marie, you're crazy." Then I saw it and I started to scream too! It was one HUGE ALBINO LIZARD, the same colour as the wall, with a HUGE BUG that couldn't fit in its mouth. If you were quiet enough you could hear it trying to crunch its way through the bug ...
Pondicherry, Union Territory of Pondicherry, India hlpiglette... desertly looking bit and we had it to ourselves on the weekdays as we were nearly the only guests, it filled up at the weekend with Indian families and a few dutch tourists, but (horrible) kids don't use the pool til about 5pm so we are still the pool masters. The beach is bit disappointing (no hammocks this time) it's not exactly the kind you'd feel inclined to lie out on but it was obviously tsumami damaged and they are regrowing loads of trees and there's a rebuilt ...
Pudhukuppam, India danskgirl... kept. There is also a very interesting, in a ram-shackle kind of way, Botanical garden with a train station that the train never comes to and, I am not joking, a cotton ball tree (will attach a photo). But we had a great storm one night and power outage (we have also had them everywhere but this one was for longer) which we discovered in the paper the next day was due to a whirlwind, cool eh! There was a nest of tiny puppies in the gutter in the street ...
Pondicherry, India danskgirl... and achieved the community was created in 1968. Striving to work out differences of culture and class in a new and higher way in hopes of realising the ideal of human unity in diversity, Aurovilians are not supposed to engage in any political activities inside or outside of the township. I am still convinced its a sect. The party featured a curious mix of Indian party-goers and 'Aurovilians', in a hall by the beach. Lasting until the wee early hours of the ...
Pondicherry, India nickjorgo... than Bangalore in almost every way. My bus trip there was not so relaxed, unfortunately. The bus was a "deluxe bus" that the ticket seller man assured me was "very high tech". He went on about how comfortable and very comfortable the bus was for about 3 minutes before giving me the ticket. It turned out to be a little too high tech for my comfort. The air conditioning was turned on full blast so that I was wearing my sweater with the hood on and shivering in my seat, wishing I ...
