We are in the northern most part of South Africa, on the border of Botswana. At night, we can see the lights emanating from the border crossing. Since we are so remote, we had hardly any access to Internet. Therefore, this blog entry was created on the fly and covers three days.

This was going to be the second time that I have been on a bush walk in a big 5 area. The last time I did a bush walk was in Kruger Park and that was over two years ago. I was a bit nervous that we would come across an animal before spotting it.

This afternoon after I finished working, I went to sit in the hide. It was a very quiet afternoon as I didn't see anything- which gave me a chance to get quite a bit of reading done. ... an antelope and were fast asleep. Panting hard was a sign that they were completely stuffed and couldn't move - the way we often feel after a huge thanksgiving meal. It was awe inspiring to be in their presence. There was a young male and two females resting in near a watering hole. As we approached slowly they would look for a moment before dropping their heads and closing their eyes. I can't wait to see them again.
