... they were sniffing the air. The largest elephant continued to walk towards us and stopped at the vehicle- it was a little bit too close for comfort. When the Mongooses Came to Visit

From out of the corner of my left eye I spotted an elephant, a teenage aged one. It was quickly leading the rest of the herd to the fresh water at the side of the dam. The rest of the herd soon appeared, comprising of two adults and three young ones. This herd didn't stay for too long, after a quick drink they disappeared back into the bush.
