The Inn treated us well, the ghost stayed away and we woke up raring to go. We are excited. The reason we came to Farmington was to see Frank Lloyd Wright's "Fallingwater", one of his most widely acclaimed works. Fallingwater was designed in 1935 for the family of Pittsburgh department store owner Edgar J. Kaufmann. His family included his wife and son, Edgar Jr.

Our tour time was set for 8:30 and we did not want to be late. Henry our guide was ...

... want to interrupt the spirits! The Inn has hosted many dignitaries and weary travellers over its many years. The interior is very Victorian, the walls laden with photos illustrating its history.

... scared-they-will-die for me. The water wasn't too cold, and while the sun was out it was lovely. Unfortunately, that didn't last, and the rains came back, along with some spooky sounding thunder, around lunchtime and between the rain, the river, and the breeze I was chilled to the bone. The boys were fine (though purple-lipped) and continued to jump in off the raft and swim during every flat spot in the river. If it hadn't been so cold, I would love to ...

... away. We had sandwiches (made by Chef Ethan) on the road and in no time we were most of the way across Ohio stopping for a bathroom break for everyone and an Iced Carmel Machiato (yum) for me. We passed through Cranberry (my mid-winter random stopping spot with delicious sushi when I took my solo road trip) and then through Pittsburgh. Ethan had a blast taking pictures of all the bridges, and there were plenty! We were jamming out to Pandora ...
